Teacher of Portuguese & Spanish (temporary position)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated qualified Teacher of Portuguese, and ideally, Spanish for an immediate start at the British School of Lisbon’s Restelo Campus, Lisbon. The contract is initially for one term, commencing as soon as possible, but potentially it could be extended.

Successful applicants will have/be:
Currently residing in, or near to, Lisbon.
A certified teaching qualification accompanied by a Portuguese/Spanish language degree.
In a school environment, experience of teaching both Portuguese and, ideally, Spanish to children aged 10 to 15 years old.
Exceptional subject knowledge.
A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning in a school setting.
A high level of written and spoken English.
Committed to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Collaborative and able to work as part of a team.
Inter-culturally aware with well-developed interpersonal skills.
A willingness to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including extra-curricular activities.

It is desirable that candidates have/are:
Experience of teaching in the UK and / or in a British curriculum school.
UK trained with a certified teaching qualification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent (PGCE/PGDE must be accompanied by a subject relevant Bachelor’s Degree).
Child protection trained.
